Announcing the Gliffy API Public Beta and Wordpress Plugin

Friday, July 31st, 2009

The web is currently flooded with solutions based around editing, sharing, and distributing text documents in blogs, wikis, or other content management systems. Unfortunately, most of the existing solutions don’t offer ways to quickly add visuals to these text documents. The new Gliffy API aims to change this situation by making it both simple and secure for third party application developers to add Gliffy drawing features to their existing web based software.

The Gliffy Wordpress Plugin

For example, we’ve created a Wordpress Plugin to make it easy to add great looking diagrams in a blog post with almost no effort at all. Building this integration took us only about a week to build because we’ve also developed both PHP and Java Client Libraries (and a Ruby library is coming soon) which make API implementations very fast.

Would you like to add diagramming capabilities to your web application? Take a look at the Gliffy API today!

2.0.1 Release for Gliffy Confluence Plugin and Gliffy JIRA Plugin

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Today we’re releasing a minor update to both our Confluence Plugins and JIRA Plugins. Most notably, we’re taking advantage of the usability improvements that are now possible with Confluence 3. We continue to be committed to making improvements on our JIRA and Confluence plugins to make the addition of high-impact drawings easier for users.

For our Confluence customers, we strongly suggest that you upgrade to Confluence 3 and Gliffy 2.0.1 as you’ll enjoy significantly improved performance in both Gliffy and Confluence.

Macro Browser Support

We’ve added support for the Confluence Macro Browser which is included in Confluence 3.0. The Macro Browser makes it a lot easier to edit the {gliffy} macro parameters. To activate the Macro Browser, simply click the new Macro Browser icon (it looks like a scroll) in the Confluence Page editor screen.

Support for new Confluence Pricing Plans

Another announcement that came out of the Atlassian Summit was that Confluence now has new user pricing options. Atlassian has replaced the 50 user license with a 100 user license, and has added a 2000 user license level. We’ve updated our pricing and licensing system to take advantage of these new user sizes.
