QA Lead and Engineer

We are seeking a full time Quality Assurance Engineer who will improve the quality of our product by working closely with engineering to identify bugs throughout our development process. We use an agile development process and we're looking for someone who's passionate about QA and can work closely with engineering to improve our manual test plans. We have offshore QA resources, so 75% of your time will be spent writing black box test plans and coordinating with India to execute them. The other 25% will be working with engineering to improve our test coverage and automating test cases.

Skills & Experience

  • A passion for QA and a desire to work closely with engineering to build a really great product
  • Experience isolating tough problems in javascript heavy web applications
  • The ability to effectively work independently, often with little direction
  • Experience developing black-box test plans in an agile environment
  • 2+ years experience testing web-based software products
  • A desire to learn or improve your white-box testing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Big plus if you have:
    • Experience leading offshore teams
    • An understanding of full web software stacks (web tier / application tier / database tier)
    • Experience with client side testing tools (ie Selenium)
    • Experience writing SQL queries
    • Some programming experience with Java or Javascript
    • Experience working with source control systems (git, subversion, or similar)

Responsibilities

As a QA engineer, your primary role will be to ensure that the QA processes we use results in high quality software.

  • Work with and manage outsourced QA resources
  • Write new manual test plans for new features and improve coverage of our existing manual test plans
  • Use automated testing when appropriate, including creating new automated testing resources
  • Help us find bugs earlier in the development cycle
  • Act as an advocate for customers with regards to long standing bugs
  • More than anything, we need your direction to help us build the highest quality software possible
