One of our company values is “Have Heart” which basically means “be a good human being”. And because we’re in the unique position of having been bootstrapped from the very beginning, (meaning we don’t have investors to answer to), we can follow our collective hearts.

Every quarter we give 5% of our profits to employee-nominated charities. It’s one of the perks of working at Gliffy. This quarter we were very proud to support the following amazing organizations:

Youth Uprising
Youth UpRising is a multi-service community transformation hub, located in the heart of East Oakland, providing comprehensive, fully integrated health, wellness, educational, career, arts, and cultural programming to Alameda County youth and young adults, ages 13-24.

Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project (QWOCMAP) promotes the creation, exhibition and distribution of new films/videos that address the vital social justice issues that concern queer women of color and our communities, authentically reflect our life stories, and build community through art and activism.

East Lake Music Festival
EMF is a free, 501(c)3 fiscally sponsored, all-ages music and cultural arts festival on the shores of Lake Merritt in Oakland, California. It promotes independent music and performance arts of all genres and believes that live music and performance arts shouldn’t be a luxury for the few, but rather accessible to the many.

Wolf Mountain Sanctuary
Wolf Mountain Sanctuary is a non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer educational organization dedicated to the preservation and proper management of wolves in the wild and in captivity.

Reunion Rescue
Reunion Rescue is home of the world’s friendliest pit bulls. They have been saving this misunderstood breed for over 15 years and want to show the rest of the world how wonderful they are. Their mission is to reduce the number of unwanted pit bulls in America’s high kill shelters through a program of love, healthy feeding and positive training.

American Cancer Society
For over 100 years, the American Cancer Society has worked relentlessly to save lives and create a world with less cancer. Together with millions of our supporters worldwide, we help people stay well and get well, find cures, and fight back against cancer.

ETC Trips: Adventures that Awaken the Spirit
ETC Trips has been enabling disadvantaged youth and people of all ages, including those with visual or hearing-impairments, physical or developmental disabilities, and life-threatening illnesses to access the wilderness and develop an environmental stewardship ethic since 1972.

Save the Children
Save the children invests in childhood every day, in times of crisis (such as the Nepal earthquake) and for our future. They give children In the United States and around the world a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. By transforming children’s lives now, they seek to change the course of the future.

SF Urban Riders
SF Urban Riders is a non-profit coalition of recreational cycling advocates focused on revitalizing underutilized and neglected urban areas and open spaces. We value outdoor recreation, encourage physical fitness and the development of bicycle skills for all ages and abilities.
