2012 was an amazing year for Gliffy. We welcomed a few new team members, we released the full HTML5 version of our popular Confluence Plugin, and we introduced Visio Imports with the Enterprise Edition of the Gliffy Confluence Plugin. In fact, it was such an amazing year that we just had to share.
At the end of 2012, Gliffy donated 1% of our annual profits to Project Night Night, a local San Francisco charity that delivers care packages to homeless children. Kendra Stitt Robins, the founder and executive director of Project Night Night explains, "The average age of a homeless person is 9 years old. In 2012, Project Night Night donated 27,600 Night Night Packages to over 725 shelters nationwide to help reduce the trauma of homelessness for children. Each Night Night Package contains a new children's blanket, books, and a stuffed animal all tucked inside of a protective tote bag. Our goal is to provide a spark of hope in a time of crisis."
She continues, "Project Night Night relies on what we call 'good corporate citizens' to help us succeed in our mission. To us, good corporate citizens mean companies who gracefully offer us their financial and volunteer support in order to ensure that we can continue to serve tens of thousands of homeless children every year. Gliffy came to our aid this year during the holiday season, donating funds to help us serve the children who remained on our waiting list. It was a gift we did not anticipate and that infused our entire office with joy and gratefulness. Thank you to all at Gliffy for being the ultimate good corporate citizen."
Now that 2013 is underway, we can't wait to see what else the new year will bring! Thank you to Project Night Night for the wonderful work you do, and we’re looking forward to volunteering later this year to help hand out some of those Night Night Packages!
