How Diagramming Fits in monday.com

Current monday.com users will be familiar with the “boards” associated with each project in monday.com. These are views of tasks, calendars, and other resources that appear as tabs in the monday.com app. With Gliffy added to your monday.com workspace, you can add diagrams as their own board view alongside the tasks and information in your project.

This is helpful for building references and documentation across all types of work:

• Flowcharts showing the sales funnel, flow of email communications, or needed approvals throughout a project
• Process models visualizing the high-level process alongside your detailed task list
• Mind maps or concept maps while brainstorming

How to Use Gliffy with monday.com

To get started, you’ll need a free trial or paid account with both Gliffy Online and monday.com. Read on for step-by-step instructions or check out our monday.com tutorial video for a walkthrough.

Add Your First Diagram

Follow these basic steps to get started:

1. Install the Gliffy app

From the Gliffy app on monday.com marketplace, click the blue “Get Started” button in the upper right. You may be prompted to sign up or log in to monday.com.

2. Open the board where you'd like to add a diagram and select "Add view," then "Apps"

Board views in monday.com are like tabs containing information about your project. Every diagram you want to add will need to be added as its own view.

3. Use the search bar or scroll to find Gliffy

Gliffy will be listed under the "Marketplace Apps" category.

4. Click "Open in board"

This will add a board view of the Gliffy editor. You may be prompted to sign in to your Gliffy Online account or sign up for a free trial of Gliffy Online, if you haven't yet.

5. Diagram away!

You can now create a diagram directly within monday.com. If you're already a Gliffy user, you can also open a diagram from your documents.

Managing Diagrams in Gliffy Online and monday.com

Diagrams created in monday.com will also be available in your Gliffy Online account, which can be accessed by logging in to go.gliffy.com. Any updates made to your diagrams in one place will be reflected in the other location.

Tips for Using Gliffy

Gliffy is an intuitive, drag-and-drop diagramming tool, whether you use it online or within monday.com. There are some slight user interface changes between the main diagramming app and the monday.com integration, but using Gliffy is intuitive and straightforward in both places.
